this is possible yes.
If you already have an Origin account and the (latest) Origin client
installed, click on "Origin" in your client and then "redeem product code".
Enter the code from the box and click next.
! However
When you are ready to install, insert the disc but do not start setup from
the disc. (Big chance) It will ask you to register while installing, giving you
the message that the code was already used and "failing" install.
Instead of starting the setup from disc, right click the game in your Origin
client and choose download. Origin should detect the disc for installation use
and will install without the registration message.
