Yes we were many many players that asked EA/DICE for this in the initial design period of BF2042 and also in the early playtesting etc. Both the Test Range and also the single player campaign mode was highly desired by a very large number of players.
But EA/DICE took the decision to focus all their development power on the core game itself instead, to make that the most brilliant that EA/DICE could muster.
I will leave it up to each one of you out there to judge how well that went.
