When installing a driver, you can pick "custom install" which lists all the things the driver installs. You could only install one of the newer drivers and not install an updated Geforce Experience. 

Out of curiosity, why are the latest drivers worthless for you? I've had issues running with 375.57 myself, reverted back to 373.06 and I've yet to crash in the past 5 games. Same reason or?

You can always download a slightly newer but not the newest driver over at http://www.nvidia.com/download/find.aspx.
