Hi all!
This workaround should help you, if not, please let us know!
Please check the version of Origin installed on your PC. A version later than 3.x is required.
To rectify:
- Try to run the client as administrator.
- Go to www.origin.com/download
- Download and install the latest version of Origin (and make sure you have your Origin account ready as well)
- Add Origin to the whitelist of your antivirus/firewall software and run as administrator. (Some software can block the launcher even if they are disabled)
- Try to download BF3 and get sure that the BF3 folder is set as "writeable" (rightlick on the folder -> properties -> writeable)
- Run the Battlefield 3 installer from disc (If it's not a digital copy).
If that doesn't help, you can try to use the Cloud storage function from Origin or reinstall the origin client and install the latest version as mentioned in point 2.
If you running on a Windows 7 64bit system, you can try to run the Client under the Windows 7 compatibility mode. The Windows 7 compatibility mode is running as x86, and helped in a few cases to solve this issue.
Cheers
