Yes, BF3 is still active. However, it is not nearly as active as it used to be. For example, I always play Close Quarters, and on PC there are only about 3-4 servers that even run CQ at all.

@xMatrixtechx i agree with @TapouTony420, BF3 is a lot still played by many players, most active servers are on channels noshar TDM, but there are many other maps with many ways, unfortunately the DLC aftermath has not played much in its basic mode scavenger.
