Got it, thank you!
Do you have any USB devices connected to your PC at the moment? If so, can you try disconnecting all the other devices to test and see if that makes any difference at all? I've seen some cases where other devices can interfere with inputs, so I am curious if that may be happening here as well.

I have my mouse but that's all couldn't possibly be that?
I use a Bluetooth headset and sometimes when it disconnects while I'm in game then I start going into a endless spin and cant counter it with mouse movements very wierd.Unfortunately @Plumber_ZA , then some PCs have shown problems when having certain and multiple inputr devices connected at the same time, when you play games on it.
Reason is that the PC uses a fast switching from one input channel to the next, non stop. To scan all your input devices for their input signals. And sometimes 'noise' from one input device/channel is flowing over and disturbing the input signal on another USB port / Bluetooth channel...
Try and unplug first your headset and insert another mouse that you may have around, as to identify if the faulty signal is coming direct from your keyboard alone or not.
If your keyboard after this acts correctly, then you know its your USB mouse that may interfere with the USB keyboard signal. Especially mice with macro-programmed key sequences etc have shown to often cause such USB-cross-port noise problems.
Would that still be the case if its a Laptop Keyboard, not sure if a laptop keyboard uses the same input as a USB even though its part of the laptop?
I guess I could use the track pad to test if it is the USB that is the problem will do it in the BF test range.
Correct @Plumber_ZA ,
For a laptop the keyboard should normally not be the problem, with the symptoms that you describe here.
Damn so it might actually be a physical key problem not a programing issue?
Oh @Plumber_ZA ,
I see your original message, that you say its specifically just for the "W" button.
One can of course wonder if you simply have been playing soo much on your laptop, that that specific key button is now wearing out?
What brand and model are you using please, as some have mechanics that enable to fix a single key.
While other brands/models, the entire key pad is like wrapped into a sealed rubber padding where no repair is possible of any kind.
Then comes the next question: Is your laptop still up to date in performance and otherwise working well? And is it a high-end model, so as to justify just changing the keyboard mechanics?
Or has it come close to end of life anyway, and you will have the heavy task of replacing it with a newer faster performing model anyway?
First thing to really figure out though is if its a mechanical key button problem or a BIOS/software driver setup issue.
You should fairly simple be able to test the "W" key in other software applications, to check if its also a problem outside the EA BF4 universe.
So lets first hear about your result from checking that.
Oky great thank you for your help, Well I have a GIGABYTE P17 laptop I would say it is a performance laptop not so much now compared to other. it was second hand though but it performs well with no other issues than this damn W key one. other than that it is awesome. I will see what other FPS I have that I can try out. but when I'm using the W key for normal office use like general typing use its fine.
I will get back to you on the effort to try it in other games.Try testing using this simple keyboard test tool:
"Key-Test" - keyboard test online (key-test.ru)
First with your laptop without any other programs/games running.
If no issues what so ever, then start the game and see if you can toggle back to the Windows environment and then still run this test again, while having the game loaded.
I have tested it in a different game and it still has the same issue with the W key.
Tried the Key test as well, the W key does work however it stays stuck for a short while after I have let it go when I held it down. I'm just afraid to remove the key because I might damage the key mechanism.OK very good @Plumber_ZA ,
or actually, I am sorry for the conclusion, but at least we now helped you to reach the correct conclusion, namely that it is a electro-mechanic failure on your laptop keybord itself, and that it is not due to the BF4 game!
If you want, we can try and search on the options available to fix your laptop key for the "W" button or alternative being to replace your full keyboard with a new instead?
In any case, you can say that we can now close this thread as "Solved" specifically with regards to EA BF4 Support...
Thanks for the Help, assistance would be appreciated on where I can fix something like this. I will in the meantime do some research as well, have a great day and thanks again for the help.
I experience this problem intermittently. Today, it's been really bad. I swapped the keyboard but that didn't fix it, so it's not a keyboard problem. Both are USB.

Do you have any other input devices connected to your PC besides your mouse and keyboard? If so, can you try disconnecting the other devices to see if that helps?

got that
Exit Origin. Go to your Origin install folder and rename your existing igo64.dll to igo64.dll.old.
Start Origin .. start your BF and the keys will work propably again.
i had this problem with bf1 fist .. but in other forums it also happened with bf3, bf4 or bf5
wonderful technology
- puntas3 years agoSeasoned TravelerI agree it’s that igo64 dll
I can connect to my PS4 and play the BF4 multiplayer but the key board does not communicate with my game and the game does not recognize the button presses.
