Re: BF1 not working after intel driver update

I know I'm late to this but the fix to this is very easy. I too had the same issue as you. The 2 latest Intel drivers end with numbers 1069 and 1191. As these numbers are lesser than 4539, the game assumes you have an older version of the driver than what is recommended, even though that is not the case. So uninstalling the game, downloading and installing the driver version 30.0.100.9955 (this is the last version before 100 changes to 101 and the last 4 digits start from 1000) and then reinstalling the game fixed the issue for me. I no longer get the warning message.

Here's a link to the download center: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19344/677976/intel-graphics-windows-dch-drivers.html

Hope this helps. Please update after trying this.

@gameloftgamerYES! Great, worked perfectly even without uninstalling and reinstalling the game. Hope EA fixes this bug fast. How stupid to be forced using an outdated driver ... But thanks again. Saved my weekend 🙂

Hi There, I'm having the same issue on a brand new PC with Windows 11 and i7 Intel. I have tried the fix but when I download the driver I get the error "No driver was found that can be installed on the current device. Exit code 8"  Does EA have a fix for this game yet?

  • I'm having the exact same problem, but I can't install the driver you linked because it's too outdated I think. Is there any chance of EA fixing this bug in the future? I can't imagine it'd be too hard to fix, and it's stopping so many people from being able to play this game they've purchased.

Keep in mind everyone that Battlefield 1 requires a dedicated GPU and not an onboard APU.

    Minimum Requirements

Graphics card (NVIDIA): NVIDIA GeForce® GTX 660 2GB
DirectX: 11.0 Compatible video card or equivalent

Is that all you can say? BF1 is for dedicated GPU only?
Are you sure, you WORKING for EA ??

Please help, because with previous drivers, people could play the game.

At the moment I also stuck with the same issue.

  • It seems EA doesn't care enough to fix this. I've been trying to contact them about this specific issue for months, and every time I've gotten the same copy and paste reply that the community manager gave to us in this thread. I've seen dozens of people have this exact problem on this board, some of them even being able to run BF 2042! It obviously isn't an issue with the requirements of our PCs, because I, and many others I've talked to, were able to run BF1 incredibly well before the update came along that locked us out of the game. If you want, maybe you can keep agitating for this to be changed, but I've somewhat given up hope that they'll ever fix this. It just goes to show how awful EA is that they can't fix a simple computing bug even after dozens of people have complained about it.

What can I do if all the new or old drivers have a number lower than the one indicated in the error?

Hey man, this worked!! Thanks so much!

As a side note, I didnt uninstall the game first. I just downloaded and installed the 9955 drivers you suggest. However, Windows 10 still chose to use the newest drivers. I had to go into device manager, click on my HD 620 graphics and choose the 9955 drivers. Once I did that, the game ran great. TY again!
