NVM, found a solution, if I pause the game it somewhat allows me to move without that push back force till it comes back (thus I just pause again and rinse and repeat

I tried pausing, restoring, alt tabbing, none of it worked very well.
Essentially, if I touch anything I get pushed back to the entry point of the water level, if I look away in any direction from where the water flow is pushing me, I go back to the entry point.
Basically, I just swam really slowly down the hallways hitting, pausing intermittently when I was really stuck, which sometimes worked.
Definitely something faulty in the game, it's worse than the TMNT Game water level, or the Water Temple in Zelda64.
I'd love to have been able to no clip my way through it, but it took me almost two hours to swim down 2 1/2 hallways... Ridiculous.
- Have you tried pressing pause every 5 to 6 secs? Cause that what I literally did to pass this bug. It's sort like the way that bug works in that God awful game sonic boom with knuckles
Just digging this post to congratulate Dice on not giving a single damn to fix bugs after more than 2 years. Anyway, spent 10 minutes swimming backward and pressing escape every 5 seconds to pass that level. Having to play this cringy campaigne to unlock the m249 is boring enough. Hopefully they thought about us and put bugs every there and here to make sure we waste time. Thank you Dice for taking that much time for your players! /sarcasmOff

Ok this is what helped for me,
1 you swim forward.
2 the moment you are not going forward any more, release "w" key and hit esc. key (quick, to avoid going back to much)
3 hold "w" key and hit esc, you start swimming forward again.
4 repeat from 1, takes about 30 sec to get there.

- Sorry to Necropost, I'm just wanting to add my two cents on what is one of Dices many COLOSSAL *-ups. Seriously, how the * do you manage to * up something as simple as a * swimming section? Dumb amateur *.
Still not fixed. I'm ashamed I'm having to go through the boring * campaign just for achievements. AGAIN! Wow - a post from 2026. You traveled into the past to tell us this still hasn't been fixed? Dice and EA are all probably part of planet WalMart by now, too, I suspect.

Had the game for two years and just started playing. It's already pissing me off. Oh, well. I think I gave a total of fifteen bucks on this and Titanfall two years ago.
pressing pause/escape button and just second before that releasing 'W'/ forward key, than wait a few sec. and go back to game and keep swimming forward until it stops and then repeat process. Only this helped me, as on 19 feb 2017 bug still not fixed like some one else in this topic said every time i get ea product i regret it. same with bf1 it crushes and kicks me of the servers on online multiplayer, on star wars battlefront it crushes on startup etc. and to add it is not hardware that's causing issues im running steam/gog/uplay titles without major issues anly origin gives me headache every time i get a game. shame on you EA

Yeah so I got this game on the Xbox one when it originally came out and since the game was 4$ now I decided to play through the campaign and what do you know... this piece of * bug is still here. at this point not enough people play the BF4 campaign to really justify a fix but really? Dice couldn't patch this part of the campaign? The game was buggy as * when it came out but I don't remember this being a problem on Xbox.
Dice pls fix xoxoI have the same problem, i solved it with the same solution as someone here mentioned. It's 2018 now, and the bug is still not fixed.
Solution: When you feel it's going slower and you get a bit pushed back , release the W button or forward stick (on console) and press ESC or Pause, wait 2-3 seconds, and get back into the game. Swim a little distance and repeat same thing and you'll get there eventually. Pretty insane they haven't fixed this yet...They wont fix it anymore, there are three games after BF4, such as BF1, Battlefront 1 - 2, and now BFBC3...they never bothered to fix. EA pushes DICE on next project each time, and barely anyone is left to deal with campaign when priority is long standing multiplayer.
It is physics screwed up as one guy mention it earlier, simply you have to turn for 180 degrees and swim backwards and try not to hit anything cause that reverse physics again it took me bout 10 min but i managed to passed it after it there are checkpoints fast before any enemies, since I doubt that they would fix it now since and Star Wars BF :P and BF1 are out hardly doubt that they will patch this more âšī¸
Wiggling direction a bit from side to side to avoid the obstacles while swimming will help. Also tend to feel better propulsion forward by not pressing the move forward button just constantly, but more actually trying to press it 'in synch' as if your soldier would take one breast swimming stroke for every time you jab the button. Worked for me for sure, so best of luck to all you navy seals out there!
