Re: Error message cuts off at "For"... how to see full error message..

it is the error that shows up at the bottom of the screen in a box on battlelog after you get kicked from a game.  And yes, PC

I do not get any errors,  I am trying to help others that do.

the problem is that the error message cuts off at the word "FOR"

Here is an example from one of the people having an error message

" Game disconnected: you were kicked by PunkBuster. Stated reason: PunkBuster kicked player 'Himmuguegeli' (for".......

You see, this is not enough information,  on battlefield 4, you get the full message, on hardline it stops at FOR.....   the info that follows is

needed to narrow down the issue,   is it a  PnkBstr.A communication error,      or PnkBstr.B  packet error?  etc

I need to know how to get the full error message to show up,  so I can tell others how to do it so I can then help narrow down or help them fix their issue.

I do not know why the Error message on Hardline cuts off when BF4 does not.   That is like getting an email from your mechanic that says "It seems that the reason your car will not start is because it has a problem with the....."  Then he give no further info after the "The.."

I do not understand why EA has the message cut off, did they screw up the Font and make it too big for the box?

  • Try to zoom out that should show the whole message then.

Ya, I have left a message with some of the people having error messages to try things like Ctrl + (-)  to zoom out to see if that gets it to show and trying to triple click on the visible text then doing a copy paste into notepad or wordpad to see if it shows up.  But I have not heard back yet.

One guy got back to me and let me know the zooming out and trying to copy / paste the error message did NOT work.

This is something that needs to be corrected on the developer side,  An error message is useless if it is incomplete.

here is the response from one of the players getting kicked...

I tried zooming in and out, the message stayed the same with no reason for kicking me. I also tried triple clicking and then copy pasting into a word document and nothing else came up after it. I also tried the fix of updating punkbuster, and It said it was already at the most updated version

  • I actually had this issue myself at launch, and was unable to play for nearly a full day.  What finally fixed it was uninstalling PB fully and then reinstalling PB using the Hardline beta 2 drivers in the drop-down.  However after a bit this started kicking me from the game after a bit, so it might have been nullified.

In the end, I simply uninstalled and reinstalled Hardline fully, PB and all from Origin and it started working.  That might be all you can do.
