DNS changes will only improve your download speed.

Why would you want to play on European servers anyway?

As I said twice, playing out of your region has to have disadvantages, and I personally think it´s fine that DICE is implementing that.

It´s hard for me to even hit a high ping player once because of rubber-banding.

Just try a server in your region once and you´ll see an improvement.

If there´s no improvement, then you have a connection problem 😉

    Hello @Ahmed_Gaaber,

Please try these steps for me:

    1. Select the Settings menu

    2. Select Network

    3. Select Set Up Internet Connection

    4. Select either Wifi or LAN Cable, whichever is your preferred setup

    5. Select Custom

    6. Select Manual

Manually enter a Primary and Secondary DNS Address from one of the following(Do not mix and match, just use either Google or OpenDNS):

    Google's DNS Address - Primary: 8.8.8.8 Secondary: 8.8.4.4

    OpenDNS Address - Primary: 208.67.222.222 Secondary: 208.67.220.220

Let me know if this helps.

    Thanks 🙂

im playing on European servers for 6 months with latency 85 without any problems , im from Egypt so the best servers for egyptian players is the european servers, this is common here in egypt, all my friends here playing in european servers without any problems and i was too until the day before yesterday ☹️   i found others suffering from the same problem , our problem is that something has changed 2 days ago specificly after bf1 last update

I completely understand your problem here, but high ping abuse has been a problem since BF3 on PS3 (as far as I remember), in BF4 it was even worse.

DICE has announced several times that they wanted to test a high ping filter or even kicker, so just maybe this last update had something to do with that.

Aren´t there servers somewhere in Africa or Arabia, just to check if your connection would be better there?

We´re trying to find out what has happened to your PS4, so please give it a try and see if other regions work better with your connection.

Of course I tried that and I got different latency for each region but the minimum latency I got was from European server and it was 250 beside that, I told you that some of my friends actually play right now at European server and everything is going well for them.... check the attached photo to see different regions ping

OK, i´ve overlooked that one sentence earlier, sorry for that.

And I have to admit that I´m wrong then, so sorry once more.

All of your friends shouls have problems then, if that´s not the case we have to find out what to do with your connection.

Going back to the start, what about UPnP? Does your router offer that option?

This attached pic shows the lowest latency I could get now after trying many servers now, and it is from European server... About port forwarding and UPnP, actually these options are not common in Egypt. If I told my ISP that they will not understand . Actually they don't know what is online ping means so all the Egyptian play without these options, beside that I swear I tried other online games like uncharted 4 and fifa 17 and plants vs zombies, the latency was good at all of them.

But your router is in your house? You just have to use a computer or the PS4, open your browser and access your router directly.

Which router do you own? If you have a connection problem you have to try certain things like port forwarding.

I´ve done that myself and my ping is between 18 and 49.

Do your friends use the same Internet provider?

Another idea first: turn off your PS4 and your router, unplug them both for 5 minutes and try again.

yes they use the same internet provider, my router model is HG531 V1 , actually it is a HUAWEI router as shown in the photo  and i can access to its option page  but what should i do at this page to try port forwarding or UPnP ?!

You have not enabled UPnP yet?

Maybe turning off was a helpful thing.

Anyway, great to see that it´s working again 🙂

If not, try the links posted above.

See you on the battlefield 👍

please check these conversation in the photos , this player  is not a friend ,this is someone i noticed that he has high latency like me so i started chatting with him , he got the same problem 2 days ago just like me , also the problem got fixed for him at the same time it got fixed for me and we both dont know how , so it seems it is not connection problem its something regional or something in the servers  Right ?!

Both from the same region, maybe both using the same provider? Then it could have been a problem with your country´s connection to the EA servers.

Strange thing that only BF1 was affected.

Some problems just come and go by themselves 😉

But again, if it gets worse please try the suggested methods.

After 2 days of great latency and no problems , the same problem back again yesterday ☹️

all the servers gives red bars for ping, latency always over 300 .

i managed to perform the port forwarding step by step as you mentioned in the upper links

i aslo tried the DMZ ,  but the problem still here , i dont know what to do next

its weird that only BF1 has this issue, please help solving this, i cant play

    Bad news 🤔

You can see the EA server status for different countries *here*, there seems to be no problem at the moment.

Personally, I meanwhile think it could be an issue with your internet provider. Port forwarding etc. should have helped.
