Re: High Pitched Broken\Glitched Audio

@OgMonkeyboy23Even laptops have soundcards, although it can be internal=)
Are you using USB headset?
Laptops can be pain if you are expiriencing audio glitches, mainly because it can be difficult or even impossible to fix it.
You can start by downloading LatencyMon and check which process/driver is responsible for glitches. But fixing the problem can be difficult as I said before

  • I dowloaded latencymon and ran the test while battlefield was open and it gives me the following:

"Your system seems to be having difficulty handling real-time audio and other tasks. You may experience drop outs, clicks or pops due to buffer underruns. One or more DPC routines that belong to a driver running in your system appear to be executing for too long. At least one detected problem appears to be network related. In case you are using a WLAN adapter, try disabling it to get better results. One problem may be related to power management, disable CPU throttling settings in Control Panel and BIOS setup. Check for BIOS updates."

This error only appears when I'm running Battefield 1, and I don't understand p much any of what its telling me, should be clear by now that computers are not my strong suit. I tried checking online how to change my CPU throttling setting and was told to use windows run command to search gpedit.msc, which my computer doesn't find when I search for it. I'm at a complete loss of what to do about any of this and am really starting to regret buying this game in the first place.

Also I am not using a USB headset, I use a pair of Sennheiser Game Ones.

I would start with disabling the wifi on laptop and try to used wired connection if possible for quick troubleshooting

Some wifi cards are known to cause issues with the sound...also try to update all the drivers you can find (wifi, soundcard, ...)

    is laptop new?

  • I updated all the drivers already, will see if i can scrounge up a cord and give a direct connection a go, purchased the laptop probably bout a month ago now.

Also wanted to say I appreciate all the support, you're pretty much the only help I've been able to get on this and it's been a big help towards me not pulling my hair out in big chunks and screeching at my computer, so thank you.

@OgMonkeyboy23No problem, I know audio problems can bring really bad expirience, resulting in sellling the laptop in the end=)
You can try another thing, which solved audio glitching on my PC. I use older soundcard which dont have upodated drivers anymore, although its a real beast.
I solved my problems with installing the software bellow:
    https://www.vb-audio.com/Voicemeeter/

    https://www.vb-audio.com/Cable/
Software is internally routing audio and it makes a software "microphone" which is feeding the audio to the selected audio output.
It solved all my problems, and I didnt hear a glitch since I installed it.
