Apparently you can’t unbind keys while in a campaign missions. It works consistently if you leaving the campaign and access options from the main screen and make the changes and then joining the mulitplayer again. However this should be working in a ongoing match but it dosen't. Change it in the menu and report back if the problem still exist after trying this.
