Hi,
if you use quickmatch, battlelog will pick a server so I do not think you will be able to
see the server info. I never use quick match and do not know for sure but quick match
itself might be the reason why joining on a friend is not possible.

We figured it out eventually.
If you use "quick match" the blue line on battlelog should show server link. Sadly many times it bugs out and it says "Transitioning".
Other way to see what server are you playing on is to wait for round to finish. News section will update with rewards that player got during the match and as well with information at what server you played.
When servers were under load whole plafrom seemed buggy but now It usually never bugs out and whenever friend joins server I can see yellow play button near his name, which lets me join server.
