And your friend is not invisible or offline or whatever option there is hidden somewhere?

I remember this being an issue here and there, both of you set the satus in EA app to online, same for steam.
Then restart PC's and see if it works. This happened quite a few times when I was doing eidolon runs with people.

Unfortunately, it didn't help. I guess I need to use your link to solve this problem. Thank you for possible solutions though.
Also if you can see him online, can you join on him ?
- @neoforo87 Haven't seen him online at all in the EA Launcher nor Battlefield 1. But! I might have found a solution: I've cleared a cache of the EA Launcher and logged into my EA account again and it worked! Hope this will help anyone having the same problem.
Nice, interesting since I'm guessing you just installed EA App or was it installed before ?
It was installed with Battlefield 1 before.
