Hello Kent, clearing the cache files seemed to have resolved the issue for now. Thank you for the response. Although the walk through was in-accurate as far as the correct folder names and locations.

Thanks for following up and letting me know! Which of the folder names were incorrect in the article? I can pass that along as feedback./Kent
SO bad new's. The same problem popped back up just a couple hours later after I restarted Origin. I'd be happy to try something else. Also the tutorial takes you to find %ProgramData%/Electronic Arts/EA Desktop. EA Desktop is not present in that particular folder nor on my computer. AppData folder doesnt have a location called EADesktop and EALancher. Only thing I can find is Origin and deleted the cache files found in there. Any help would be appreciated. I'd hate to have to delete the cache files every time and restart to play. Thank you for your time.

Hey @inferno8625,
Thanks for following up!
I'm curious if there might be something else running on your PC that could be related to the issues that have been happening with the Origin cache. I've seen some cases in the past where security software can block Origin from writing files, which can lead to issues like this. Have you checked to make sure there's an exception for Origin in your security programs?
It might also be worth trying out a Clean Boot to test and see if that makes any difference. If there is something else running that's causing this to happen it may help get around it. You can find more details on how to set up a Clean Boot over at the EA Help website.
Please let me know how that goes once you've had the chance to give it a shot. Thanks!

This has been difficult to figure out exactly what is going on because it seems to just want to work randomly. My firewall ports are open for origin, the ransomware shield isn't blocking anything required by origin, Nord VPN is allowing the correct traffic through. I can click and play right now but after a restart of origin it may be greyed out again. I also tried a safe boot with networking and the play button was still greyed out. It is only for Battlefield 1. All other games work without issue. Thank you for your time.

Hey, I was just looking up this problem and I'm pretty sure I figured it out. go to the battlefield 1 files under origin games and delete the bf1 trial application. seemed to work for me. lemme know if that changes anything.
I installed the EA Beta app and the game has worked without issue since. Just thought I would update so this isn't a dead end thread. Thanks for the reply.
