I appreciate your longform response. I should have added in the original post that my wife and I are both on wired internet connections to the routers. 

I think I'm going to have to try to screw around with setting the MAC addresses as reserved IPs on the local LAN that you've described. Just to remove that variable from the equation. Hopefully that will work to resolve any issues, but maybe it won't. I tried doing that before, but maybe I need to dig a little deeper. 

I didn't know about the server bug that was happening. If that's the case, then maybe, yeah, we're going to have to just find different servers to play, because what you described is exactly what hapens. It says "joining server", but just kicks us out. I've restarted the game before, but it doesn't seem to solve the connection issue, so I'm not sure what that means, either.

Appreciate your help with this. I'll look at some of these solutions and come back to the thread if I've found a fix.

    Hi again @Bedzzz4Less ,

    If the issue is all related to that recent introduced server bug, then there is nothing that you can do yourself on the client side.  No router changes, no reserved IP addresses, no resets on your own gear will alleviate that.  As its all due to the server side bug, where the server is not releasing the player names as it should, when they leave the game.  And your soldier remains stuck in the data buffer.

    Hence my suggestion for you both to try and log on at same time to my Metro server.  As then I can check also on server side for you what might be going on, if you still have an issue.  Please notice that it is based on Europe, so you will need to include that region when you search for it in the server browser.  Let me know what you prefer, as happy to help you out!
