Re: Voices of Russian soldiers
The same problem goes to Chinese soldiers as well.
The mandarin they're using is very strange, let alone the weird accent.
Yes they're speaking Chinese, but none of any native mandarin Chinese speaker talk in that way.
It sounds like they google translated the scripts and throw them at some Chinese learners to read it out.
For example, during the last stage of Campaign, when the Chinese soldiers find out that Jin Jie is still alive, they yell "金杰活了".
It actually means "Jin Jie is reanimated!", rather than "Jin Jie is alive" which is supposed to be the case in this context.
And when Hanna kiss Jin Jie goodbye before they went on their last mission to sink the Chinese warship,
I get that the script writer wants Hanna to say "Take care", but what she actually said is literally "Be Healthy". There is excat same phrase for "Take care" in Chinese, unfortunately they choose the wrong one.
I'm not saying it is all a bad thing. As a Chinese I had a lot of fun listening to these strange Chinese voiceacts.
But realizing EA Shanghai took part in the development, why don't let native Chinese speaker to take a look at the Chinese script first?
(However some of the banners in the Shanghai map makes excellent reference that Chinese can recongize and understand, I wonder why.)
