Rented a BF1 private server but cant change map ang game modes

I rented a private server today in hopes of getting some achievements done and playing with friends. However, when I try to change the maps/gamemodes of my server, I just get a blank screen with nothing happening. I can change every other setting in my private server, except for the maps and game modes. 

is this normal? It seems very odd that I can pay money for a server, but I am unable to change the maps or the gamemodes. Is there any way to fix this? Am I just glitched or something?
