Requesting: Submarines

Submarines were arguably the catalyst for why the USA joined WWI, with the sinking of the Lusitania. Wouldn't it make sense to include them in BF1?

My understanding is that submarines were under development along with the Turning Tides DLC and the Zebrugge map. Boats can then have depth charges to counter these submarines or U-boats. Maybe a new version of the Destroyer class can have these depth charges. Or maybe even make the submarine a new mini-Behemoth like the destroyer class ships.

Any thoughts?

    Thoughts? Mainly that it seems highly unlikely that such a feature would ever be added to the game this late in its life cycle. Might be kind of cool though, although it would be pretty hard to counter if it's effectively invisible.

    I personally would like to have it on the water maps! It will add another layer of combat on something you need to think about. 🙂

    While it would be interesting the player base would be extremely vocal when subs they cannot see are sinking their boats. It would however make the Zeppelins and aircraft more useful so they can go after subs instead of farming infantry all day. Then there's the fact that BF1 is effectively out of development preventing this type of addition.
