Settings will not save!!!!

I bought this game after I upgraded to Windows 10 Pro and for some reason, it will not save any settings what so ever. I need to change my video settings and my key bindings (I was originally a console gamer) but it keeps reverting back to the default once I change multiplayer modes. I have tried to launch it as admin but it did nothing (I think it is because the game isn't actually launched until you do it via webpage). I have looked at one other solution but I couldn't find the settings file. Plus, the tutorials are annoying because when I'm using my controller, it doesn't recognize my "a" button as a left click so the tutorial hint stays on my screen for all of eternity. please help

  • Hi,

First of all, try repairing your game.

using Origin > Right click on BF4, and choosing the "Repair" option.

when you're done, check if its working.

if not, try going to My documents > Battlefield 4 > Settings  and deleting all the settings there.

It should reset of course all your settings and may remove your game save.

If you're looking for settings file its there. Profsave_profile

I repaired the game but it did nothing and I cannot find that file. For some reason there is no Origin file in my documents folder. The only origin folder that contains anything related to bf4 is a folder on my C: called "Origin Games" and it doesn't have that file in it.

  • This is the location of the files.

    C:\Users\(YOUR PC NAME!)\Documents\Battlefield 4\settings

What actually should create them is just playing the game for once.

The files names  should be:"meta" "PROFSAVE" "PROFSAVE_header" and "PROFSAVE_profile"

  • Try ALT+ENTER (eventually twice) it should say in the upper corner "Saving "

When do I do this? When changing the settings or just some random time?
