Sign in with your EA account to activate your game on this computer

The splash screen prompt comes up for me to sign in with my EA account to activate 2142 on my computer, I enter in my e-mail and password and it just comes up saying Could not connect to the server, please try again in a few minutes. It says this every time I try to play it. I have been able to play it from the exe in the past with no issues back when I first got it from EA Downloader, but now it needs activation on my Origin account?

  • I'm also having the same problem with NFS Prostreet and MOH airborne

  • From the linked post: this solution worked for me!

Basically: create a folder named "Origin Games" in "C:\Program Files (x86)"

I had also this problem and tested following steps: http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/30/7634323.page#22611630

When I looked into file "DMLEGACY_Core_Log.html" in folder "C:\ProgramData\Origin\Logs" I saw almost in the bottom of the file this message: "Login attempt rejected due to invalid DIP path configuration. Base Install Dir: C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games"
When I checked my computer in folder "C:\Program Files (x86)" I did not have folder "Origin Games" so I created the folder, started BF2142 again, wrote my activation info and then BF2142 started.

So I guess on my old installation I had that folder when BF2142 worked and not on my new installation or it have been removed with an Origin update.
