Spawning without Gun, Invisible Players, Missing Sounds
Hey,
I've had this issue with BF3, BF4 and am still having it with BF Hardline (not surprised).
I play battlefield both at home, and at work during my lunch hour. On my work PC, I do not get these issues.
Here's what happens:
During a match, if I switch loadouts, I will spawn without my primary gun, however, if I switch to my pistol, my pistol works fine. Switching back to primary doesn't fix the issue, and it actually still renders my pistol, but says I have 0 ammo, and I can't shoot. It seems that my primary gun just fails to load. If I wait a bit (sometimes for minutes), it eventually pops up.
I often get the same issue with battle pickups. I'll pick one up, and it doesn't load, says 0 ammo, doesn't shoot.
When I have this issue, I also tend to see a lot of players as just a floating gun. Their player mesh doesn't render, I just see their gun, and their name over them / their dorito.
Along with these symptoms is a major lack of sounds. Most sound effects / barks seem to stop working. Usually, once my gun finally shows up, it's accompanied by a flurry of other sound effects kicking in.
But as I've said, I've been having these issues since BF3. When I had the issue in BF4, I tried fully re-installing the game, and that seemed to fix it for a while, but it very recently came back. So I tried fully re-installing again, and this time it didn't help.
When I played the Hardline Beta, I immediately had the same issues. I would really like to know what's causing this / how to fix this. It's really frustrating that I don't experience these issues on my work PC, but I get them on my home PC (which is way better than my work PC!).
PC Specs:
CPU: Intel i7-3960X
GPU: GTX 780 (x2) SLI
RAM: 16 GB 2133 MHz (Quad Channel)
Motherboard: ASUS P9X79
And I of course have the game running off an SSD.
Looks like I fixed it! I had been going on the assumption that all of this was some how related to audio, and audio taking too long to load or something.
I searched BF4 + Realtek Audio, and sure enough i saw a thread of people talking about lowering their audio format in the realtek audio manager to fix some issues they were having.Seems to have fixed my problems!
