Hello @LazzaTheLobster
And thank you for such a detailed explanation of these issues.
1. That model of headphones are you using? Have you tried to test this issue, using alternative headphones?
2. From your description it looks like your sprinting is rather interrupted by some in-game obstacle, rather than just controller not working. Can you confirm to experience the same issue, should you try to sprint on some flat surface?

Hello @EA_Archi
I am using the HyperX Cloud 2 headphones. My original thought was that the headphones were causing the "input lag" as I guess you could call it.
I did see one theory that I didn't mention in my original post and the theory was that if you had other devices around you (devices that use wifi or bluetooth)
that these devices would actually mess with the connection between your controller and playstation, thus causing momentary loss of connection. This would make sense because I have tried recording the issue in the past but it doesn't show up in recording, which means it is indeed input and not output.
If it was an output you would easily be able to record it and this would mean it is an issue with the playstation or network ( at least I think, right)
Which also leads me to believe it is indeed the controller and POTENTIALLY other devices in the room interfering with the connection.
Now this may or may not have any connection to the sprinting issue, but it is weird that I experience both issues and I believe my controller is functional.
I see what your saying about in-game obstacles interrupting sprint, I think this could be the case but I will have to get on tonight and really test the theory.
It would make sense because it's worst with the cavalry but that would be because the cavalry is faster and hitting more bumps then infantry.
Thanks, Lazza

Hello @LazzaTheLobster and thank you for this additional information. I am playing Battlefield 1 on Playstation 4 as well, and also using headphones, connected with the controller. My headphones are just some generic iPhone one`s. I might also test this interfering theory, since I also have Bluetooth speaker setup in the same room. But I find it hard to believe this is the case. Keep us updated on your findings!
Cheers,
Archi
