Standalone Dedicated Server

Hi...

I'd like to build a brand new bf1942 origin server. Is possible to build a linux standalone server?

We have not released linux server binaries for the Origin version, sorry.
You don't need Origin installed to run the dedicated server though. In order to deploy this to a Windows dedicated server machine, copy the entire "Battlefield 1942" directory to the new machine and launch DedicatedServer.exe / Battlefield1942_w32ded.exe. If you want to deploy this to a Linux machine, it might be possible to run it under Wine. This is not something we support, but it's worth a try.

I wish you guys would release this for linux. I have a dozen game servers and a mumble server (as well as a few websites) running on a dedicated linux box with a solid connection. It sure would be nice to run this there as well.
