Stuck on loading screen (PC)

Any time I try to launch BF1 the game opens and sits on the first page with the loading icon in the upper right. It sits there and cycles this over and over and never progresses.
Example = https://i.gyazo.com/b49d58e6c529d355421802c468dd02a5.png

I Initially had this problem about a year ago now but every so often it would actually get past it and launch, I eventually gave up on the game as it was to much hassle and I couldn't find any help.

Now the issue seems to be constant and never lets me past it, since my last attempt at playing I have completely reinstalled windows, redownloaded / reinstalled both origin and battlefield.

I have tried many things people have suggested, a lot of the issues other people were facing seemed to be network based and since I seemed to be capped downloading at 1mb/s to origin I thought that may have been the issue, but after trying many things that doesn't seem to be the problem at all.
Ive tried doing basic stuff like only launching the pc with system processes + origin only, running with admin, running in different compatibility modes, running with a vpn, running in offline mode. Disabling things like shadowplay, origin in-game. Made sure all my drivers were up to date. Tried installing it on different drives it was on a secondary ssd but moved it to my main install ssd.

Programs I normally have running are
Corsair LINK - cpu cooler software
ASUS GPU Tweak 2 - graphics card software

ASUS AI SUITE 3 - motherboard software

My system specs are
ASUS Z170 Pro Gaming Intel Z170, DDR4, ATX, LGA1151 Motherboard

Intel Skylake Core i7-6700K 4.00Ghz, 8MB, LGA1151
Corsair CMK16GX4M2A2400C14 Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-2400 CL14
ASUS STRIX-GTX970-DC2OC-4GD5 GeForce GTX970 4GB GDDR5 PCI-E3.0
Corsair RM Series RM650 650W Fully Modular PSU 80Plus Gold
Windows 10 home 64bit

  • Finally had the time to go through these again, Did another clean boot and it seemed to work this time, I must have missed the certain process that was the issue.
ended up turning things on one at a time, testing the game and in conclusion it was the service asusgamefirstservice, a service for the ASUS Game First III program. I wasnt even aware it was on my PC and has just been background software that was installed with my motherboard.

Not something I need so can just leave it disabled and happily play BF1.

    Thanks!

Awesome to hear that you found a fix! 🙂

  • Hi, what I found is that the game will have loading issue if Nvidia instant replay mode is on.

before starting the game. turn it off and turn it back on when you are in the menu.

hope this helps in finding a fix solution.

  • Oh my gosh! I have been trying to fix the same issue for years and I was never able to find the issue, until I read that you fixed your problem by disabling ASUS Game First III. I never notice the program running in the background. Now I disable it and Battlefield runs just fine. Thank you so much!
