Two PCs cannot play on the same network

This issue might have been addressed before, but I could not find a solution to my problem and EA support is nothing but bots giving the most generic answers, it's like talking to Cleverbot. Anyways, that's not the point.

We have two PCs in this house, separate accounts, each having BF1 on it. There was only one time when both were able to join the same server. Other times, only one could connect while the other could not, or none would connect at all no matter the server. At this moment, none can connect no matter what. Both PCs use wired connection. The message both PCs get is "Connection to EA Online timed out. Your network bandwidth and/or network latency may not meet the requirements for this game." I live in South Africa, I admit the internet is not the best(10 mbps download speed at most) but there should be no issues since we have dedicated servers.

I have tried port forwarding on the router, but, to be honest, I'm not 100% sure how it works, I only opened the ports but from then on I'm not sure what needs to be done.

Any help would be appreciated.

  • Hi @kallross!

The best solution for your case is exactly port forwarding. If you're not sure how to do it please take a look at this website which gives you info on how to port forwarding depending on your router model.

Also i link you te official Ea help page in which you can see the ports that need to be opened.

I followed those steps, now only one of the PCs can connect to a server. The PC that forwarded the ports to the other is getting the message from the screenshot I previously uploaded.

Tried everything, same result. What I noticed is that the PC that does the port forwarding cannot connect to a server.

Hey @kallross make sure that both PC gets different IP from the router/modem that should solve it for you.

Both IPs are static, and only one PC can connect while the other cannot. The only solution I could think of was using mobile hotspot(which works) but it's a very expensive method.

Are you using several routers/modems for your home network or 1 hub?
