Two player start

 

Hello All,

The servers I rented previously allowed me to set the start to only require 2 players. I was tring to start a tank game and the minimum it allows is four. Thinking that there must be games with vehicles that allow a two player start I posted the question I am now replying to. So in the meantime I went to set my game back to close quarters. Now a two player start is not an option at all. Did EA update the game and remove the ability to start maps with only two players?

If so, please undo this immediately. I want to use my server in ranked matches as much as possible.

It is not possible for me to find more than two players all the time. Also, I do not want to have to be a gamer recruiter. I want to be a gamer. Allow me to play the game and servers I am paying you to play on.

What happens to multiplayer when EA decides to no longer allow me to rent multiplayer servers? I bought Battlefield to play multiplayer, that is it. The campaign is not interesting to me. This is true on most every game I play. The lack of LAN support for games and a guarantee of being able to play the games with others for years is unfair to the purchaser. I am getting tired of having to work so hard to play a game. Please help me out here, EA. I love your games but your decision making on the limitations of some your games is mind boggling. Please bring back LAN only gaming as an option on every game. Sometimes the internet is down and I still want to play. Fix this please.

In the meantime please tell me how to rent a server, play with vehicles, and need only a minimum of two players to get the game to start-all in the same game.

    "3) We now enforce a minimum player count of 4 on both PC and consoles (PC previously had no such limitation while console servers had 2 players as the limit) to be able to exit preround on Ranked servers. You will still be able to move around freely in preround, but the match doesn’t officially start (and thus no stats are affected) until at least 4 players have joined. This goes for both PC and console servers. This will make it harder to easily use Ranked servers as boosting servers."

    This policy makes me unable to enjoy the game as much as I should after paying for it and to rent servers. I do not have time to go through forums and find other people to play so that I can unlock stuff. I have one friend that I play with, please change this back so we can play in the middle of the night when no one else is on. Do we wish our server would fill up, yes. Does it? No, not without a lot of work. I do not want to work to play. I work to pay for the game, the internet, the console, servers I rent, and so forth.You have so many rules about how to play the  game it is detracting from the fun. There will always be people who play the game in such a way as to dimish the fun, please do not use such blunt force methods to stop them. You are ruining the gameplay for paying customers.

    This method is not even effective. By raising the game start requirement to four, all you have done is cause four boosters to get together instead of just two. Four people can boost to their heart's content, but two players not trying to cheat cannot play at all. Is EA adamant in this new policy or is there a mechanism for change?

    If you did not prevent unlocks in unranked games that would mitigate this problem, but it would still not be as good as just letting us play the game.

    I still want LAN gameplay on every game. Not having it seems protectionist on EA's part, I do not like it one bit. It seems like you are intentionally buiilding in obsolesence in everygame. Does everything have to be about the absolute bottom line? Can some decisions be based on what gamers want? You know us, the customers.

    They can do something about it but why should they, they have already our money!!! Stupid we hahaaaaaaaaaa.

    OP DICE made the decision to fight boosters and DICE will not change their decision. You can market your server on Battlelog, you can offer game modes and maps that many players like in order to populate your server, and if you set the ranking to "official" you will get quick match traffic which will keep your server populated but will limits some of the admin features that you can use.

    The EA Answer HQ is a community run (ie gamers helping gamers) self help tech forum and we are unable to affect any changes to the starting player limit here.

    OVER_THE_DEATH please keep your comments clean, within the EA Terms of Service, and most importantly constructive. Repeated ToS violations on the AHQ will have your account referred to the EA Community Managers for further evaluation.

    I think this is so unfair. I am not sure whether that was legal at all. Let's make a parallel with a purchase of a TV set. You buy a new TV set and a month later the sales assistant comes over to your place and takes your remote control. you still have your TV but  - Are you still happy?

    For me it's exactly the same.  

    Can I ask for the money back for the game in this case? This game is now not something I bought in the 1st place.

    Seriously that was the mode I liked the most and now I can not enjoy it.

    ( to highlight - I would not mind if the points were not added to the general score after the game but blocking it is too much for me)

    The BF3 and BF4 are "game over" for me. Not going to buy anything after then from EA.
