Yes we are both on the 360. And it happens while he is playing Battlefield. It began working a few hours after he went to work.
Can he join the game aka a session when you start to play a match before him? It sounds like that the router in your house is blocking one from playing, what is your router model and are both consoles connected via wired LAN?

I have the same problem. At times we can both play together just fine and maybe after 2-3 hours one of ours gets disconnected from EA Servers.
I am using a wired connection from my xbox 360 and the other one is using wireless - has great signal and only about 10 feet away with nothing blocking line of site.
