Unable to launch the game from this device Windows 8.1

I got Battlefield 3 a while ago back when it was on the house in Origin, at that time I had Windows 7 and  did not have any problems running it.  Now that I have upgraded to Windows 8.1 when I try to run from battlelog a little box pops up saying,

"Unable to launch the game from this device

Please check that you fulfil all of these requirements:

• X Windows Vista or later
• Check Compatible 32-bit (not 64-bit) Web Browser"

As I have put above there is a an X beside Windows Vista or later.

I have tried running both Origin and BF3 in admin mode as well as compatibility mode for older versions of windows.  I have tried different browsers disabled plugins and addons.  None of this has worked.

If anyone can help that would be amazing.
