University treats battlelog server browser as P2P and therefor kicks me off.

My university blacklists my MAC address for Peer 2 Peer when finding a server in battlelog, both by quickmatch and server browser. Is there any known solution?

  • It is possible to change your mac address in Windows. You need to go to the "device manager" under control panel or if you are using Windows 10 type device manager into Cortana. Select your network adapter and go to properties. Now click on the advanced tab, you will see a selection that says mac address.  Select that and then selection the radio option button for value and enter your desired mac address. I would like to note though that is unlikely they blocked your mac address or black listed you (unless they suspected you of doing something wrong) it is more likely that they block all mac addresses except for a select few. Its called white listing and is very useful in protecting large networks. There are many other ways to "spoof" your internet info such as mac address as well. If that doesn't work and if they use a white list it won't, you may try a vpn service. But it should be noted that vpn service typically add latency, as to how much depends on the specific vpn. Some are usable while gaming others are not. Also, it could be considered a peer 2 peer connection in some cases. I wish I could give you a more precise answer but hopefully one of my two methods about will help you. I will include a link to a site about changing your mac address as well in case you'd like to see screen shots.
