Veteran Service Assignment Missing from Selection AFTER assignment completio

Completed Assult, Medic and Support and was on my last task for Sniper (5 shots behind the shield), completed it. and i have logged in tonight and everything has been reset.  This is really frustrating.  Many hours went into trying to get these things completed.  Im not the best player so i try and accomplish things in this game that i can wrap my abilities around.  When this reset, it has really struck a nerve.  Can the BF1 team check my progress and update it please.  all of this occured Nov.8 around 11:00 central if this helps.

    Hello,

    At that date was the last update (operations campaign) and losing your progress will be temporary, please login again and try to play for sometime and you will have back your progress, you can update us if you are still facing this issue,

    That was the time when the latest update started.

    Have you played BF1 since then?

    It´s normal that something disappears temporarily on a patchday, but your progress is saved online on EA´s side and should not be lost.

    Please play a few rounds to sync your data 

    Resatarting your system before starting BF1 could also help.

    Are you able to check if the progress is back? November 8th was patchday for Battlefield 1. Patchdays are always accompanied by downtime.

    Well, ok.  That was indeed the case. freaked me out a bit.  but im back up and running with the progress i have made.  Albeit, slow progress.  The follow up question for you cats is:  if assists count as kills:  why have those not counted for the sniper sheild assignment.  There are a handful of times that i would wound a player for 85-90HP and someone else on the squad would finish him/her off.  Clearly i have to headshot the enemy for a kill to occur and count for the sniper shield assignment, is that correct?
