We need a stamina resource again to punish abusing cheesey things. I know people look at Bad Company fondly but that was when stamina was removed and we started getting unlimited sprint and tactics that the stamina resource could curb. The slide and vaulting have always introduced hitreg issues. 2024 has really bad hitreg in general but it gets abused with these cheese tactics that are not kept in check by a stamina resource. They need to prioritize server performance and hitreg to be reliable.
The next gen game needs to raise the skill ceiling but there is no way that can be done since crossplay and consoles are involved. Controller support for PC also is a problem as well. There is a lot of ways to abuse the mechanics of the game without installing any actual cheats. Since aim assisted automation was introduced it has done nothing but dumb down the FPS genre. Every one that grew up playing this way doesn't understand the skill that should be required to play FPS games. There probably isn't any going back as well. You can't get a game of full PC players since they botched everything there was a bout BF2042.
My hope is for server browser, Clan/community run servers, enough PC population to not need crossplay checked, and mechanics to support roles and slow the game down just a bit. Not mil-sim slow but enough to differentiate it from a trash game like COD/modern warfare.
I would be fine with aim assist and crossplay between PC and consoles being removed. I would take the challenge as console player, had played Insurgency Sandstorm which doesn't has AA. I would also go as far as having limited stamina. I believe, I would be fine with that too. Bring it on, good old days 😎
