Weird Lag Possibly Caused by Connection Issues

A few months ago I was having issues with BF4, in which I would be experiencing very odd lag, not like my system is being bogged down by the game, but more like internet lag. The game would freeze every few seconds for what seemed like half a second, after a while the game would act as if I no longer had an internet connection at all, when I still did. Out of no where the problem stopped and I continued to play BF4 with no performance problems..until today, where the same issue started again. My internet speed is 30mbps down and 3mbps up. I have one integrated motherboard ethernet port and an addon PCI ethernet adapter, both are connected to my router/modem box with priority use from the PCI adapter. My router/modem box is an Arris DG860.
