We're sorry, an error has occurred

The following error appears whenever I attempt to start Battlefield 4 (whether Campaign, Multiplayer or Test Range) and prevents me from playing:

"We're sorry, an error has occurred" "Origin is not installed, and is required to play your game. Please reinstall Origin"

 

I have reinstalled Origin several times, repair installed Battlefield 4 several times and have updated my graphics drivers. Other solutions for similar problems for other Origin games -such as Battlefield 3- also suggested I check my registry files which I did with no success. Occasionally I will get a different error message entitled "Activation.dll" which recommends that I reinstall the game.

 

Is any one else getting this problem ? Is there a solution ?

    Hi stigza,

     

    Please remove the Battlelog Plugin via the steps here and then reinstall it. 

     

    Please also make sure you are opening Origin as Administrator, you can do this by right clicking the Origin shortcut and choosing the 'Run as administrator' option. 

     

    You could also try making a new Windows User profile with Admin rights, to see if this will make a difference to the issue.

  • I removed and reinstalled the plugin, ran Origin as Admin and set my Windows User Profile as administrator and still the problem persists. Although I do hugely appreciate the assistance, the constant errors are being highly demoralizing.
