Whenever i shoot my knife seems to swing out.

Whenever i am on battlefield 3 and i try shooting someone or engaging someone my knife swings out usually causing me to die and sometimes me getting a kill. I tried switching my controllers but still does it. Any idea to what causes this? is it a lag issue or?
