Why are servers showing they're full when they're not?

Thanks for deleting my first post...

Last night one of my admins brought up this issue to my attention:

He asked me why is my server showing that's full in the server menu when there's only 49 plrs in it?

So I left the server to see what he was talking about, and on the server menu it showed the server was full with 7 in queue

but in reality there were only 49 plrs in the server, and it wouldn't get any fuller then 49 plrs.

It seems my server is not the only server with this issue, where I found a few with the same issue.

Console: PS4

Game: BF4

Server: Hardcore Nation Metro 40K+ Fav's 24/7 US

    Starting a few weeks ago (about the time EA Desktop beta came out), the BF4 server browser in Origin started being unreliable in the number of players shown. It is usually about half.

    If the number is 60 then there is almost a 100% chance that the total is around 30 instead. If the number shows as 59 or 61 then it has a greater chance of being correct.

    For some reason, this seem especially common on the 24/7 Dragon Valley server.

    This still happens on the Dragon Valley map. I just joined a few minutes ago when it said 60 and there were 40.

    @Chronic1Thunder This has been happening for the past few months about half the time. If a server says 60 in particular then there is zero chance it is that amount. Other numbers seem to be more reliable, but today I haven't joined a single sever with the correct player count. Hopefully once EA Desktop is out of beta they will be able to fix this new issue.

    Today there is not a single server showing the correct player count. I've tried 64 player and 32 player servers and the same thing happens. Sometimes there are just 10 people or so.

    This bug has not changed. I just tried to join three servers that showed 60 players. The actual totals were 24, 50 and 8.

    Update: Currently all server totals are wrong except for those that are full and have a queue. The totals are generally about half of the amount shown. I've seen it as low as 12 people instead of 61 or more as displayed.

    I was in a round where another player had a different player total during a match, which I've never seen before.

    Hi @MyJetpack ,

    Also the full servers with a queue are showing wrong!

    So you can have a 64-player server, which shows full and with a queue of maybe 7 players on it.

    But in reality you only have maybe 57 players in the actual game, while indeed still the 7 players still in the factual queue to join.

    So situation is that the servers cannot always fill up to their levels as intended.

    I am aware of the technical reason behind this bug, but EA and the companies hosting the servers do not agree on whos fault it is and thereby who should fix it...
