Why can't i customize weapens in Battlefield 1 like i could in BF3 and BF4?

I like what Dice has done with the customization options. It makes it feel a lot quicker and easier to just select your gun, change the zoom, decide if you want a bayonet and you are done. I think it goes well with the WW1 theme of BF1 to have simpler options. I did like being able to customize more in BF4 but Dice is trying new things which is how franchises improve and I personally like it.
