Windows 10 update decreased the BF4's performance

Hi!

Now we all know that BF4 doesn't work so great on Win10, but I'll save you your time and get right into the point.

1. Laptop's configuration:
Lenovo ideapad 700-15ISK

Which contains:

Windows 10 home 64-bit
Intel Core i5-6300HQ 2.30 GHz
NVidia GeForce GTX 950M (I can also see the Intel HD Gaphics 530, but I do not think we care about this one)
8GB RAM

2. The problem:

Now for the first time I installed BF4 on this laptop I had a simillar issue, but it was easy to fix, but due to the today's Windows update (Cheers Mark Z!) the problem came back, but I cannot solve it in the same ways I managed to do in the past.
"Low performance", "low FPS" - the best descriptions. The performance is just low. Lower than it used to be before the Win update (after i fixed it).

3. Solutions that didn't work (to save your and my time)
Below you will see the solutions I have tried and did not solve the problem:

A) Regedit:
-Setting "value max" to 0
-In the AllowGameDVR bin setting "value" to 0
-Setting "GameDVR Enabled" to 0 in the GameConfigStore bin.

B) Installing DirectX from the BF4 folder

C) Setting "Battlefield 4 (x86)" in Origin for an advanced launch options.

If you know any solutions or want to help just drop an answer below! I will respond for sure! Thanks!

Best regards,
K1

Problem soloved. I had to open GeForce drivers and turn off the less battery consumption mode.It was checked and blocked fps at 30. Had to uncheck it. Somehow it has been changed by the update. Thank God I thought about it. Now I can play with 100% 1080p, with many things switched ON / ultra with 60+ fps.
Thanks for help, though! I will keep this thread for people with the simillar issue.

  • @K1Blackburn Sadly when it comes to win10 updates not much can be done to fix it until microsoft does a fix. I will give you my settings to pull the most FPS out of BF4 and I hope it is some help to you.....

    Nvidia BF4 settings ....

First step open Nvidia Control panel under 3D settings go to Adjust image settings with preview

Pick use my preference and set it to performance and hit apply.

Next go to Manage 3D settings, Program settings tab and add BF4

Once BF4 is added in Program settings tab make sure all this is in place if your card has all the settings if not just do what you have..

    Ambient occlusion- not supported
Anisotropic filtering- use global settings off
Antialiasing - FXAA - not supported
Antialiasing- Gamma correction- use global settings on
Antialiasing-Mode - use global settings off
Antialiasing- setting - use global settings none
Antialiasing- Transparency - use global settings off
CUDA- GPU's - use global settings ALL
Maximum pre-rendered frames - Use the 3D application setting
Multi display /mixed GPU acceleration- set to what your display is
Power management mode- Prefer Maximum Performance
Shader Cache- use global settings on
Texture filtering - Anisotropic sample Opti.... - use global settings on
Texture filtering- Negative LOD bias - use global setting Allow
Texture filtering - Quality - use global setting Quality
Texture filtering - Trilinear optimization - use global settings on
Thread optimization - use global setting Auto
Triple buffering - use global settings off
Vetical Sync - use global settings off
Virtual Reality pre-rendered frames - use global settings 1

In game video settings right side set to custom and set everything to medium or low but last three turn them off ....

    1-antialiasing deferred off
    2-antialiasing post off
    3-ambient occlusion off

on left side be sure vertical sync is off and under video... resolution scale to under 100 like 80 or 90 will up your FPS

Also not sure what you use to see FPS in game but if you need it this is how to make a FPS cfg for BF4....

To see FPS in game with out fraps etc:
    1- open note pad
2-put this in the note pad..... perfoverlay.drawfps 1
3-when you make the user.cfg in notepad, change the file type from text to all. And name it user.cfg
    4-Put in .....:\Program Files\Origin Games\Battlefield 4
    5-Also close Origin to put cfg in just to be safe :}
6-You will see your FPS in top right of screen when you start BF4
