I had the exact same issue and found a fix!
-Go into games and apps from the dashboard
-highlight BF 4 and press the start button equivalent
-I had the option to reinstall. I chose that.
-once it completed...Boom! I was able to join my friends games.

- ApprovedI checked about the re-install and I do not have that option. I am able to uninstall, but that is it.
- ApprovedSame here.. No reinstall option. If I uninstall I will need to uninstall all DLC as well and redownload / reinstall several gigs worth of content. There has got to be a way for EA to simply push the update to users who have not yet received it!
