lets see if a cold reboot will help. all you need to do is hold the power button on the console 10 seconds. to verify that it worked load up a game (i dont suggest battlefield as thats the game youre trying to move) and a notification should pop up that says syncing. what this will do is clear your system cache. it may not help but its something you can try if you havent already

Hi Deathspnkd thanks for the quick reply, unfortunately I have already tried the cold reboot several times with no luck, I was wondering if BF4 is set to be only installable to the internal drive as default of its programming but in all the searches that I have tried no one else has mentioned this so it is either not a problem for them or no one else has installed it on to an external drive which I doubt as I am sure someone must have done it. It would be nice to get a definite yes / no answer from EA or the BF4 guys as to if it can be installed onto the external.

Nice link with great info - many thanks again - looks like I am going to have to speak to MS and see what they have to say - its an interesting if annoying problem and funny how it only affects BF4 whereas other games that are larger (and smaller) move back and forth with no issues - weird.
