- Anonymous11 years agoManaged to play 3 games in a row tonight, so either the following worked or EA reset something at their end.
-uninstalled origin, battle log and punk buster all from the control panel
-ran cmd.exe as admin and did ipconfig flushdns and "netsh winsock reset catalog"
-changed the DNS in my router from 8.8.8.8 (ie Google ) to blank
- cleared all chrome browser data
- in the bf4 folders found the C++ redist folder and ran set again to uninstall
- restarted pc and router
- installed punk buster with admin properties on the exe on install, updated client and added BF4 (then update again) and checked I had both A and B services running
- installed C++ redist from the bf4 folder
- installed origin then battle log
- disabled origin in game for bf4
- changed the windows firewall to accept connections for private and public networks for bf4, punk buster and origin (maybe battle log too I can't remember)
- launched bf4 and battle log. Upon joining the first server it asked me whether I wanted to use either local or cloud saved data. I selected cloud this time (previously I may have tried local)
- joined a server without issue and stayed until the end of the round so it would write a new set of cloud settings.
- quit the game and joined another server (all ok)
So maybe it was something above or the order I did them in or by doing it all together or just an EA account glitch ... But hopefully that's the last I will ever see of the disconnected error.
