AMD Radeon driver version 0.0.0...STILL

Just bought BFV on Steam Summer Sale. Nice price, done and done. Go to launch, and I get the error that my Radeon card has a version of 0.0.0

Updated card, rebooted system, I will not uninstall and reinstall my card or GPU. Seriously, this is a bug. It needs to be fixed. If the minimum and recommended specs are met, why should I have to go through 1000 extra steps and jump through hoops to get this game to work? Just fix the bug already, it has been a thing since 2019!

Attached is my dxdiag, not that it will matter, because someone is going to come along and tell me to uninstall the card, reinstall, use DDU and/or CC, go into BIOS and disable this or that, reboot, spin around 4 times while saying "EA IS GREAT", and then do a handstand.

Please fix this before I petition Steam for a refund.

Make sure your PC is using, and your display is connected to your discrete GPU rather than the motherboard video output, thanks.

  • I only have the one monitor, and it is connected to the AMD Radeon RX5500 graphics card, not the onboard AMD graphics.

  • I am also having this problem. My monitor is connected to my Radeon 6600 and I have updated drivers.

I have seen many posts about going into BIOS and disabling the onboard graphics, then going into the Device Manager and uninstalling the onboard graphics. I can't seem to find where in my BIOS I would disable the onboard graphics, mainly because when a graphics card is inserted, the system automatically disables the onboard graphics. Also, when I uninstalled the onboard graphics in Device Manager, it didn't seem to work because it just popped right back in.

Then, yesterday, I randomly decided to try again. I went into Device Manager and uninstalled. I knew I couldn't do anything in BIOS, but restarted my PC anyways. Went to launch BFV and wouldn't you know it, it works now!

Not sure if an update happened or what, but it looks like it's good now. I would try uninstalling the onboard and restarting your PC. More than likely, that should take care of it. It is ridiculous that we have to jump through these hoops when EA could very easily put out a patch that tells the game to use whatever graphics is available, but here we are.

I hope you find this useful!
