Ban on linux players

this is ridiculous, i have all battlefields and now i need to work on linux, all my other games work perfectly on steam proton, so i will have to repartition just to install windows w keep playing bf5, this is an absurd lack of respect.

  • It's ofc. a shame if BFV doesn't run on Linux but you were told that Linux is not supported, the system requirements specifically mention Windows, I don't see a lack of respect. That being said, I do hope proton and BFV can become friends.

  • the game work on linux, the lack of respect is becouse EA is banning linxu players just becouse they are playing on linux

  • Now, I have never done this, but I know a few people that have.

    Try using Virtual Machine.

If you don't know what a Virtual Machine is, here's the official definition:

In computing, a virtual machine is the virtualization/emulation of a computer system. Virtual machines are based on computer architectures and provide functionality of a physical computer.- Pretty much what that means is that you can run a different kind of OS on your already existing OS. Like for an example, running Windows OS on Linux.

You can find out more about virtual machines here --->  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIVXjl4SwVo

And learn how to set it up here ---> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jyi-NuqiLr0

Of course, do your research before setting this up and playing Battlefield, because it might cause some issues. This is my suggestion for the current predicament that you're in.

    Hope it helps 🙂

No they're not. That's blatantly false, they never banned anyone for playing on Linux.

There is zero evidence for this. Whatsoever.

Tens of thousands of Linux users have played BFV on Linux for years, without a single mass ban or banwave. Ever.

You're blatantly lying and spreading misinformation. Please stop.

There was a claim in January 2020 that EA was "banning Linux players," and it turned out that literally the ENTIRE thing was because of only ONE forum post where LITERALLY TWO people CLAIM to have been banned for no reason other than using Wine/DXVK. They had no evidence of this, and EA never said anything, and IT WAS ONLY TWO PEOPLE DUDE. But the community FLIPPED OUT, then after a couple people including myself actually took two seconds to look into it instead of reading a headline and reacting, a bunch of us started pointing out that this was nonsense, and the story died immediately. And yet years later people STILL ask about if it's "still going to get them banned" if they try to play BFV on Linux.

NO, IT WILL NOT GET YOU BANNED, AND THAT WAS NEVER THE CASE.
