same problem too
So I recently bought BFV Definitive Edition on Steam and I've been trying to launch it, every time I click play on Steam it redirects me to EA Play, it says launching game for a few secs and then says someone else owns the game. I checked to see if I've linked the right Steam and EA accounts and I have. Plz help.

I purchased Battlefield V on the EA app since yesterday and have waited well over 30 minutes and restarted the app several times, I have also cleared the app cache and logged in and out, removed and reinstalled the app but my game is still not showing up in my library . Strangely, the game appears in "help.ea.com/en/help-home" when I filter by "my games" and in my account under "order history" the game appears as completed. Please guys I need help please.
So, i bought Battlefield V: Definitive Edition on Steam, while already owning a version of BF5 (Standard or Year1?) on the EA-App.
Now, whenever I try to start Battlefield via Steam, it opens the EA-App, where nothing happens and triggers the Steam game validation. After that has finished, nothing happens.
Try to uninstall the EA app of your pc and then verify the game files through steam so it will reinstall.
@bruderbuderIt's been 2 days for me too and it still doesn't appear in the library! No one is helping. Also 34.99 TL was charged for a 19.59 TL product! This was the first and last product I purchased from EA!

I've merged posts which seem to be about the same issue with this one.
I'm told that the relevant teams are aware so hopefully a fix will be forthcoming.
launch but nothing happens. ea play says i dont have access to game, even though my money went through. is ea a scam company now?
