Battlefield 5 - game not launching

When selecting play from Origin, no application is launched and no process appears in task manager. After a few seconds the screen returns to Origin.

  • Hi @m614n

    Have you had a chance to try repairing BFV in Origin to see if that helps at all? If there's something corrupted in the game data that may help resolve this.

    If you right-click on the game in your Origin library you should see the Repair option when the menu pops up. Let us know how it goes when you can. Thanks!

    After I repaired the game, it loaded. I closed the game and opened it up again - and it worked.

    Thank you.

    Hey @PutyaOz64

    Are you getting any error messages at all when it crashes?

    @PutyaOz64

    Got it, thanks. Were you already able to try repairing the game through Origin? It's still crashing after that?

  • SOLUTION!!

    I had the same problem and i couldnt find anything here that worked but i figured it out, I hope this helps:

    These games use cloud saving so make sure that you are signed into your OneDrive account and its all up to date. The OneDrive cloud icon should be in your tray at the bottom right hand side of the screen. If it is not there, just run OneDrive from your windows apps. I would always close out of any running apps so that I could maximize my free RAM. I didnt realize that closing OneDrive would not allow the game to run but it did. It would act like it was going to run and open up a black screen with an icon showing that it was loading, but then it would just close and origin would still be there. Once I made sure the cloud icon was in the tray, I tried to run it again and it has worked ever since.

    If this helps please click the XP button under this post. Thank you.

  • Thanks mate,

    that was the solution. I appreciate your help. I was off BF5 for a couple of weeks.

    Regards,

    Eugene
