Hi @Jungerr35 If you can see what other people are writing, it might be that the name you're using contains something that isn't allowed by the profanity filter. You can test this by changing your name to something else and seeing if the chat lets you write in it.
@ElliotLH I have 800 hours in the game and I have always used this name but I have not been able to write anything since 3 days ago
@Jungerr35 The filter is periodically updated so it could be a recent change. People have been reporting similar issues for a few years now, and in all the cases I saw it was the playername causing the problem.
If you'd prefer not to change your name to see if that resolves the problem, there's no harm in waiting to see if anyone here has a different suggestion. I may be incorrect and it's a similar but different issue.- @ElliotLH If this is the case, then it is completely ludicrous! I've always used my nickname which are my initials (RPFFDS) since day one in 2011 when i first bought BF3 and never had an issue. And I have no clue how it could be an offensive acronym or word!
Nevertheless, I can see nicknames being used that are truly offensive and no one bats an eye for them!
I rather cancel my EA account and ditch EA altogether than change my profile!
