Battlefield 5 Crashing - How I Solved It
Hey Everyone,
Just recently I was getting random crashes with no errors or anything. When going into Event Viewer in windows I would get a message like this (see below).

I used to be in IT and from what I recall, issues like these could be memory (RAM) related when programs or windows all together randomly crash. Interestingly enough, this issue started right after I updated my BIOS for my motherboard. Currently, I am using a ASUS Crosshair VI Hero, AMD 1800X at 3.9Ghz, with a 16gb of DDR4 3200mhz. After testing just about every solution that was suggested nothing worked. I start to think "is this due to the BIOS update?". Keep in mind that I was able to play BF5 with no issues for how ever long I wanted prior to this update.
Before we get too far into it. I'm starting to think that the issue has something to do with AGESA (for AMD systems) but I'm not entirely sure. Hopefully someone with more smarts than me might be able to pin-point exactly what is causing the issue. Below I have listed the BIOS ver. that I'm currently running now that is working and the one that I updated to that was causing the issue.
Current BIOS: 3008
Release Date: 12/13/2017
Description:
-Update to AGESA 1071 for new upcoming processors.
Problematic BIOS: 6401
Release Date: 12/13/2018
Description:
-Update AGESA version to 1.0.0.6
-Improve system performance.
-Add CPU PCIe Lanes Unlocked item in BIOS when plugging in AMD Athlon 2XX series processors
I know this was long but I hope this might help someone, somewhere, somehow. A suggestion though is to have everyone that is having this issue is to post your system spec. so we can try and see if there is a trend.
My Spec.
