another install of Origin with the opt in for Technical checked and its working
I appreciate the updates. Thanks for letting me know that helped with the crashes!
Can you give the steps above a shot as well, when you can to see if that helps for you?

Started playing 2 weeks ago, on an older computer. The game didn't run very smooth, but was stable.
Decided to upgrade a few components to increase graphics and framerate. It ran fine and looked splendid on Monday, before downloading the 36GB update.
Ever since the update, the game crashes either within 5 seconds of getting to the main menu, or (if I make it to selecting a game, or starting singleplayer) within 5 seconds of being in-game. Crash always causes a full system reboot.
After updating all drivers, BIOS, repairing the game and reinstalling Origin, there was no improvement.
Did a clean Windows installation this morning, followed by driver updates and reinstalling Battlefield. The game still crashes within 5 seconds of getting to the main menu.
There's no error, no blue-screen. I'm downloading Battlefield 1 now, to see if that works.
I've attached msinfo and DxDiag.

Update:
Exactly the same occurs in Battlefield 1.
Next up: try a completely different game, see if there's something horribly wrong with my new components.

Are you overclocking your CPU or GPU? If so, can you try reverting back to the factory clock speed and check to see if you're still running into any crashes?
