Battlefield 5 Server Browser Broken (Xbox)

Hello, i come to this website today requesting assistance as my Battlefield 5 server browser seems to be broken. Let me explain, I can only use the server browser to search for the modes that are highlighted on the multiplayer menu (Dom, Breakthrough and GO currently) by pressing the view servers button on each, however if i try searching for the other game modes no servers come up at all, even if i used the server browser button instead of changing the parameters on the view servers for the previously mentioned gamemodes. Is there any way to fix this, i would appreciate help soon as one of the weapons from overture requires getting headshots in TDM, which i cant do as its one of the modes that the server browser refuses to look for.

As this has been happening since the launch day, yeah the filters have been reset many times. As for port forwarding i have tried port forwarding my router and most of the methods dont work. I dont understand why i would need to do this anyway, the server browser has always worked for me in other battlefield games and it sorta works in BF5 except for the other modes and most of the oceania servers wont show up for me.

    Hey @anzac200277,

Have you tried resetting the Filters in the Server Browser?

I would also recommend opening the suggested Ports for Battlefield V:

    https://portforward.com/battlefield-v/

    https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/opening-tcp-or-udp-ports-for-connection-issues/

Let us know if this helps.

    Thanks 🙂

  • I have the same problem, also on xbox. The server browser has always worked in previous games but is completely broken in bf5. I can get into matches just fine in quickmatch but in the server browser there is 0 games. I have tweaked every setting and still nothing. Since the game launched the server browser has only worked once for me, and i did nothing different that time. So it's obviously not a problem on my end because it started working sporadically without any changes on my part. Anyone else have this issue? Any fixes or do we just have to wait until EA/Dice acknowledges this problem?

  • Hi there - this exact same thing is happening to me on PC. I'm also searching for Oceania servers. It happens intermittently, but seems to stick with the same kind of bug update by update.

Eg, before the most recent update, I could not play Breakthrough for a few weeks - only Conquest and Squad Conquest. Since the recent update, I can ONLY play Breakthrough and Conquest. No matter what combination of filters I use, I cannot find Oceania servers for TDM, Domination, Frontlines, Grand Operations, etc.

Makes me super bored of the game when it has to be the same all the time, week after week! Can't take a screenshot right now but figured I'd add to the pile/heap.

My problem was solved by just resetting the filter on the server browser. I don't know why this fixed it because when i tried to tweak the settings the same way manually i got nothing. But if you have not tried this, give it a shot.

I didn't write that cause I thought it might be obvs that I've tried everything suggested so far in this thread - but yeah, have reset the filters a bunch of times - many thanks for the help 🙂
  • Same problem here, not matter which region and game mode I pick nothing shows up. Even if I select every option at the same time. I tried resetting and everything. I am on Xbox also.

These steps should help do the trick:

    • Reset the server browser filter back to default by hitting that button under the filter settings
    • Click Player Slots and check them all except spectator
    • You should see more results pop up at the bottom

Still not showing up? Try these steps:

    Xbox One:

    Power Cycle the Console

    1. Turn off the Xbox One console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down completely.
    2. Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds.

Important Be sure to wait 10 seconds. This step resets the power supply.

    1. Plug the console power cable back in.
    2. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn on the Xbox One.

    Clear Mac Address

    1. Clear the MAC Address: From the Xbox dashboard select Settings>All Settings>Network>Network Settings>Advanced Settings>Alternate MAC address>Clear, then restart your Xbox.

    Reboot the Network

Unplug the modem/router power for about 5 minutes to refresh the network
