Ever since ea games from steam stared launching through EA app i have had this issue. Before when it was launching via origin i could play battlefield 5. But now when i launch battlefield 5 EA app opens and the game just doesn't load. Here's a screenshot of the error message.
I have been having the same issue for 2 weeks now. I have contacted ea help multiple times and they have told me that their team is working on an update for the ea app that will fix this issue soon. Don't waste your time following the simple and unhelpful troubleshooting guide they send you via email if you contact them, it will not fix this issue.
Have you made sure that your steam was open prior to launching? I've had similar issues with different games in the past and making sure all game clients were opened first would typically be a workaround
Yes I have made sure that the ea app was not running in task manager before attempting to launch the game through steam and it will not launch. Whats puzzling to me is that I also have 2042 and battlefront 2 purchased through steam and I can launch them both either through steam or the ea app. Battlefield v however does not give me the option to launch it through the ea app. I am going to try to resolve the issue with the steps provided through this link tomorrow and I will give an update. https://appuals.com/battlefield-5-wont-launch/
The guide from https://appuals.com/battlefield-5-wont-launch/ did not fix the issue. I guess we are playing a waiting game with EA.

yes having same issue with ea app, downloaded on ea app to and still doesnt work , prefer using steam.
had this before when installed ea app with xbox app for ea play. bfv would only work when u closed ea app and launched origin ( can't do that now)

No, they have not. They stopped Origin, made me install the EA app an now most of my games won't launch. Even tried the run as admin tactic that used to work.
I spoke with EA support yesterday and they basically said all I could do was wait for them to fix it..
